It should be painfully obvious to most readers by now that Daily Turismo has an appreciation for the stranger side of the automotive hobby. AMC Batmobiles, VW Beetle trikes, Corvette wagons, double-decker Minis, and all manner of car-to-pickup conversions have “graced” these pages under the moniker of the dubious and universally befuddling Riddler badge. Up […]
If you are currently in the process of founding a ‘school of hard knocks,’ boy do we have the vehicle for you. This Frankenstein’s monster is built from parts of an ’82 International chassis a 57 Chevy truck and creativity. Regardless of its origins, it is now described as a 1957 Chevy Monster School Bus […]
Early ’50s American cars may never be as popular as their mid- to late-50’s successors. The automotive landscape at the beginning of the Atomic decade was punctuated with tall, upright and slab-sided cars that had definitely evolved from pre-war cars with their “pontoon” fenders, but hadn’t quite reached their final form. This period was kind […]
Today’s featured clean looking cheap classic is from DT regular reader and ebay seller Oprah85 (aka Tamas)We are huge fans of the BMW ‘new class’ (introduced in 1962 with the 1500, later adding the 1600, 1800, 2000 & 2002) and are particularly fond of the round taillight 2002 Tii (the Tii added Kugelfischer fuel injection […]
We found another winner from the guys at MotoExotica – this time a 1955 Buick Century Riviera 2 door non-post hardtop previously owned by drag racing legend Don Prudhomme (one of the winningest drivers in NHRA history before switching to Funny Cars). It is located in Fenton, MO and can be found on ebay currently […]
We’ve said this before, but the Nissan 300ZX is the automotive equivalent of fat Elvis – the final conclusion of many famous celebrities & cars: heavy, slow, chrome-covered and an met with an untimely death. That doesn’t stop us from admiring the final hurrah of the king of boost from the 1990s, and the prices […]
The Lotus Esprit (es-spree) enjoyed a remarkably long life with only minor changes in its 28 year lifespan and over 10,000 examples built from 1976-2004. In 1979 Lotus released a special edition – the John Player Special to commemorate its 1978 F1 world championship winning car – really just a stickers package – but cool […]
The Ford Torino, originally a option for the Fairlane sedan, coupe & wagon, was first introduced as a stand alone model in 1970. Ford used the Fastback Torino as the base for their NASCAR entrants, although the actual racers shared little in common with production vehicles. For the 1970 NASCAR season Ford started building a […]
Many ebay sellers tend to use the tactic of giving less information and hoping the buyers gloss over any deficiencies and just feel happy to get a car that matches his make/model/price requirements. We don’t really like this method as it causes much heartache when the car is finally delivered, or better – when the […]
Unless the Mayan apocalypse is planned for another time zone, 12/21/12 has come and gone without any major episodes of carnage, unless you consider the inevitable divorce of Demi-Kutcher an ill sign. We do think the divorce is a sign of good things and therefore want to celebrate that the world didn’t end by jumping […]
