The Ventura name was first used by Pontiac as a higher priced version of their 1960 full sized Catalina, but with the release of the Grand Prix, the name was relegated to a trim option for 1962 through 1965. A few years later the Ventura name was revived for use on GM’s compact X-body platform […]
Somebody better put some miles on this car ASAP. If we don’t roll the odo digits, this car risks becoming one of those cars that gets passed around those fancy auction sites between exceedingly wealthy hipsters who store them in their garage and talk about when they first got into Apple stock. This car needs […]
The late model Pontiac GTO (technically a 3rd generation Holden Monaro) was simultaneously lauded for being a rip-roaring hootenanny of an LS1 powered beast and maligned for its staid styling. It is the exact opposite of Pontiac’s G6 GXP, which was a exercise in unhinged styling with a ho-hum V6 pushing around the front end…which is exactly why I’d much prefer a GTO over a G6 in any shape, even with some bumper rash. Find this 2004 Pontiac GTO offered for $6,750 in Canton, GA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!
There are two types of V8 swapped Jaguars out there roaming around the streets. The first is the carburetor fed Chebby 350 powered versions — these are built by sellers who are sick of paying crazy Jag V12 maintenance costs and can be fun. The second type of swap is the paradigm presented by KWE Cars, which is where you upgrade and make the entire package better with technology and a steady stream of cash. The sell claims $40k to convert it and if that is true, then paying less than $15k is a smokin deal. Find this 1989 Jaguar XJS V8 Swap offered for $14,500 in Wickenburg, AZ via craigslist.
I can’t help be feel a certain sense of sadness whenever I see a fifth generation (2004-2006) Pontiac GTO…or more accurately, a 3rd generation Holden Monaro. The GTO/Monaro was a product of the indiscriminate globalization we’ve experienced in the past few decades, but in a good way. It gave us in the USA a chance to experience some Australian goodness, some good old fashioned fun from the land down under…but it ended with the shuttering of the Elizabeth, South Australia plant in 2017 and the inevitable announcement that GM was killing the Holden brand after the 2021 model year. GM will continue to sell cars in Australia, but they will come from plants in Korea, Thailand, Canada, Germany, and the USA. It is a shame because the GTmOnaro was a better Camaro than the Camaro relaunched in 2010 and we only have our fickle buying habits to blame. Find this 2006 Pontiac GTO offered for $16,500 in Lafayette, LA via craigslist. Tip from RamJet.
Yeah, its beat up. Sure, it’s torn up on the inside. Yeek, that odo reading is high. And, of course it has the dreaded slushbox auto…but….dang, you can’t beat an LS1 V8 in a sweet pony body that isn’t a Camero and this is a lot of car for the money. Find this 2004 Pontiac GTO […]
Looking for a car that no one at your local Cars and Coffee will have? The Pontiac Le Mans was a obscure and slow selling GM A-body chassis. Today’s example has been given the restomod treatment on the inside and out. The malaise spec engine was swapped for a much more stout 69 GTO 400 […]
The builder of this next car must have thought: Why should people without kids have all the fun? Those without a rowdy brood in the nest already have less stress, more sleep, a clean house, and money in the bank –why should they get to have all the fun on wheels too? Let’s build a […]
