This next car comes as a tip from MB who writes: I feel like Roadmasters are fairly common but I can’t remember the last time I saw a Caprice wagon. This is the 1991 – 1996 “bubble” Chevrolet Caprice wagon, GM’s last great body-on-frame full-size wagon before minivans and SUVs replaced the wagon. This one […]
This next car comes with a salvage title and a check engine light. How bad can it be? I shouldn’t have asked that. Becuase this isn’t a 1990s Ford that can be fixed with a screwdriver and a weekend, this is a modern vehicle with tight packaging and beaucoup electronic connectors with things like CANBUS […]
This next car comes as a tip from Matt who writes: Here we have a ’63 Chrysler New Yorker that I can only imagine has been repainted (right?) and had a mopar bumblebee stripe with a Angry Hornet sticker added to either intimidate or confuse… but $8,700? If it’s legit then that seems like a […]
Today’s next feature boasts the quintessential Eddie Bauer look: green over tan two-tone paint, chrome trim, polished wheels, and that unmistakable ’90s Ford presence of an upscale truck. On a 90s F-150, Eddie Bauer trim usually meant two-tone paint, upgraded interior materials, special badging, nicer seats, extra convenience equipment, and a more upscale “weekend cabin […]
Today’s next feature is the ultimate in basic — it’s a regular cab short bed, rear-drive, manual transmission, and the 4.9-liter inline-six. No luxury cosplay, no giant crew cab, no turbo anything, just truck. This is an example of a car built from the era when things could run forever — 333,000 miles on this […]
Todya’s next feature is a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Daytona 500 Pace Car Edition, which is peak late’90s/early’00s Pontiac: excessive plastic body cladding, coupe roofline, supercharged V6, and it is just one Earnhardt window sticker away from peak NASCAR glory. The GTP was the performance trim of the W-body Grand Prix, so this gets the […]
What do you call a Van if you take all of the seats out of it and compress it into the size of a small SUV? Today’s shorty van has the face of a normal B-series Dodge van, the wheelbase of a roller skate, and the visual balance of a cartoon service vehicle from a […]
The Shelby Lancer was a one-year-only Carroll Shelby-tuned version of the Dodge Lancer, built during Chrysler’s turbocharged front-drive performance era. Power came from Chrysler’s 2.2-liter Turbo II four-cylinder, with an intercooler and around 175 horsepower, which was serious output for a front-drive four-door in the late 80s. Find this 1987 Shelby Lancer offered for $4250 […]
Today’s next feature is a second-generation Chevrolet Cavalier wagon, part of GM’s front-wheel-drive J-body family, which also included the Pontiac Sunbird/J2000, Oldsmobile Firenza, Buick Skyhawk, and Cadillac Cimarron. Cavaliers were everywhere in the ’80s, but most were coupes, sedans, or later convertibles. A clean surviving wagon is much less common, especially one that has not […]
This is a first-generation Plymouth Voyager, part of Chrysler’s original minivan family launched for 1984 under the leadership of Lee Iacocca and Hal Sperlich. The Dodge version was the Caravan, and the fancier later sibling was the Chrysler Town & Country…but they were all based on Chrysler’s S-platform, which was closely related to the front-wheel-drive […]
