Before we get into the specifics of this next car, let’s start with the model year, because there was no 2003 Camaro. Fourth-generation Camaro production ended in August 2002, so this is almost certainly a 2002 or earlier car titled/listed incorrectly. GM also didn’t make a 4th gen turbo V6 Camaro, but that didn’t stop […]
Our next feature is one of the coolest third-gen F-body specials and easily one of the sneakiest fast cars GM sold in the late ’80s. Pontiac took the turbo Buick V6 (related to the one in the GNX) and shove it into the front of a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am and put some Indy 500 […]
This next car comes from BP who writes: Something to watch. Despite being on the rather ‘pricey’ Bring a Trailer site (BaT.com) is this MGB currently at $1450 with 3 days of the 7 gone already. Surprisingly low for relative to a bunch of other B’s coincidentally listed at this time. Nevertheless, clean, interesting, and […]
The Triumph TR7 was born at the wrong time. It was born in an era when car designs were saddled with huge front/rear bumpers and silly ride height, not to mention complicated Rube Goldberg inspired carburmafactor and all sorts if ill thought out ideas. Today’s TR7 is a project car that has had the original 4-cylinder […]
The Phoenix was a compact GM offering that lived on the rear-drive Nova platform (1977-1979) and later switched to the front drive Chevy Citation X-Body platform shared with the Buick Skylark & Oldsmobile Omega. This early Phoenix could be considered an upscale version of the Pontiac Ventura, and today’s example is powered by a 231 […]
This next car came in as a tip from Hugh who writes; Oh my! Plus for seemingly having four donut spares installed. I didn’t fixate on the donuts, but I had strange sense of déjà v6 swap, because I swear I’ve seen this car before. And we’ve featured a strangely high number of V6 swapped TR7s over the years, but this one appears to be new to us. Find this 1976 Triumph TR7 V6 offered for $2,750 in Jefferson City, MT via craigslist.
This next car is an interesting thing — it is a Triumph TR7 that has had its original engine removed and replaced with a Buick V6, which should make it a rare thing — but this isn’t the first, second, or even the third Buick V6 powered TR7 that we’ve featured here…so I guess that Buick V6s in TR7s is a real movement within the automotive customization world. I think that is a good thing….right? Find this 1979 Triumph TR7 offered for $5,100 in Des Moines, IA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!
When I first started reading about this next car, I have to admit that it got my nose crinkled up a bit. Why would you put a later V6 into a classic American muscle car when V8 power/torque/noise is so affordable…and then I thought…because you can. And because the Buick Grand National V6 was a turbocharged thing of beauty and not some junky Camry/Accord fuel saver. Nose un-crinkled, acknowledging positive head bob engaged. Find this 1968 Buick Skylark Buick V6 Turbo swapped offered for $14,999 in Lindenhurst, NY via craigslist. Tip from Cory.
This next craigslist advert is, for me, an exercise in frustration. First up…it is the radical Vega Wagon version, but there is not a single picture of the entire car. Next, the Vega has been given a Buick/Rover V6 swap, but again…no pictures. I love the gold paint and the black center wheels…but I want to know more!! Somebody buy it and send me pics. Find this 1973 Chevrolet Vega Wagon offered for $5000 in Bakersfield, CA via craigslist.
The MGB GT was a fixed roof version of Morris Garage’s iconic MGB roadster, introduced in 1965 and built through 1980 for various markets. When first released, the GT used the same BMC B-series inline-4 cylinder engine, but added small back seats for miniature passengers and Pininfarina designed greenhouse with a fastback lift-gate and storage […]
