While many custom Batmobiles end up looking like something that covers the floor of a bat caves, today’s example is no guano. It was built on a 1984 Corvette chassis and looks an awful lot like the car from the 1989 Tim Burton / Michael Keaton Batman movie. This is a good thing, because that was the best Batmobile; earlier versions were downright dangerous (you’ve got baddies shooting at you, and you drive a roadster?), and the car from the latest Chris Nolan films lack aesthetic embellishment.

I remember reading that the 1989 movie cars were also built on 84 vette chassis. I think MTV gave one away in a contest, but removed the propane burner, and replaced the turbine hub with a replica. Apparently the movie car used a real hub for some reason, and was quite valuable.
I can't remember where I picked this info up, so it might have been a hallucination.
