Stately G-Body: 1981 Buick Regal
Are you a product of the eighties? Do you nostalgically look upon your old high school photos and long for your prized mullet? Is old Brylcreem filling your bathroom vanity cabinet? If so, your in luck! Dust off those Dayton boots and start kickin’ it old skool! Find this 1981 Buick Regal for sale in Aldergrove, BC Canada for $3,500 CDN via craigslist.
Really…a 1980’s G-body in what appears to be very good condition cosmetically, then stuffed with a ZZ4 crate 350 for practically pennies in USD equivalent? This seems to defy all the odds, but here it is! This is the high school ride you lusted after while commuting in your ’74 Pinto equipped with a stereo that was worth more than the whole car. Who says inflation has taken all our yesteryear whips out of price range?
I continue to be stunned by what is offered here vs. the cost to recreate it. The engine pictures look amazing, I gotta think the $3500 CDN would barely cover the cost of the power plant alone. The seller listed possible trades for a 4-cyl, 4-door commuter type car…that usually spells doomed family guy went down the wrong path and is now enduring the wrath of momma!
The interior screams 80’s with the velour and faux wood finish. The column conversion to floor console looks well done. The car looks just a good inside as the outside. Somebody picked up a granny ride here and went all out.
I dare ya to find another value-for-price proposition than what is currently offered here. $3500 CDN is roughly $2600 USD by today’s exchange rate. Just think… all the cash you saved used towards rear tires shredded in smoke shows for your high school pals! Puts a smile on my face just thinking about it…

I Hope that's irony….. My dad drove one of these….
Irony for sure…the malleable kind!
Looks to be in nice shape the Eldebrock AFB carb can be a pain to get right more Holley tuners out there for sure.
I was wrong. I have lived long enough to see when anyone would ever want to try to muscle up this generation of wretched cars from the by then Corporal.
