Low Rust: 1974 Porsche 914

The original low-cost Porsche was released in 1969 with a simple flat-4 engine mounted in the middle and styling that was radical, angular, and futuristic compared to the rolly-polly 911.  For various reasons the prices of 914s aren’t in ridiculous la-la land, and you can get a nice one for not too much cash.  Find this 1974 Porsche 914 offered for $7,500 via hemmings.  Tip from BarbPaddles.

The seller includes only one photo of this 914, but it looks nice with minilite style wheels and bumblebee yellow paint.  With any luck it has the 2.0 liter 95 horsepower engine instead of the basic 76 horsepower 1.8 liter, but if the claims of “low rust” check out, it could be a good deal.  Just what does “low rust” mean anyway?  I know what no rust means, but low rust could mean the rust is only along the bottom of the car.  See another 914 for cheap?
