I know…I know…Saying a Corvair powered VW-style kit car is like a Porsche 917 is the analogous statement to saying that Rosie O’Donnell is like the Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge — sure, they are both ladies (probably) and brunette..but um…yes, there certainly is a ride for every seat and a seat for every ride…or something. From the seller:
I’m putting my 917 replica up for sale again. It is built on a newly modified frame and chassis with disk brakes all around. Its got plexiglass that I cut and bent myself and a lexan windshield I had a friend install, Its got nice interior. no rips or anything on the seats. It could use new carpet on the floor. It is powered by a rebuilt chevy corvair flat6. It runs well but it has four carbs and they could probably use some adjustment. It dies sometimes when you stop and the alternator might need to be replaced because it looses its charge after a while. The fiberglass does have some cracking, but nothing structural, just normal for a 50 year old kit car. It does have a clean title in my name for a home constructed vehicle in 1975. Its a great platform for a running project car. I’m asking $3500 or best offer.
