There was a time when Cadillac built these awesome cruisers that would float over rough pavement like professionally trained ballerina and leave miles of road behind you like you’d been sleeping in a luxury cabin on the Orient Express. Unfortunately, the guys at Cadillac spent too many years hanging out at the water cooler with the nuts at Pontiac and today’s Cadillacs are tuned at the Nürburgring for enhanced kidney damage. Yes…we know…the seventh generation DeVille doesn’t have a 6-speed manual gearbox, a Corvette engine, or rear-wheel-drive, but what it does offer is a 300 horsepower version of the Northstar V8 mated to a 4-speed slushbox for leisurely cruising. Grandpa had it right.

Known problematic early 4,6,8 Northstar engine. Later Northstars were much better.
This car needs some gold stripe white wall tires to be the ultimate retiree cruiser.
