If you felt that the RM Sotheby’s W126 Mercedes-Benz wagon was a smidge too high brow for the pages of Daily Turismo, you could be correct. But you can’t stop us from dreaming, and when we come down from our imaginary Jay Leno garage, we’ll find something like this next feature sitting in our actual (real life) garage. Who says you need money to have sweet stuff? Find this 1980 Oldsmobile Toronado XSC Grandeur offered for $6,250 in Los Angeles, CA via eBay.
I’m thinking of changing the name of this site from Daily Turismo to Daily Buickismo…because I’ve become slightly obsessed with 90s/2000s era Buick for daily driver needs. Every time a non-car person that I know buys a brand new car, a little bit of me dies inside…because they didn’t need to shell out $30k for a car that gives them the same driving experience as a 90s Buick. Sure, a new car gets slightly better fuel economy (gas is cheap…and who’s driving anywhere far these days?), and a new car has all kinds of fancy lane guidance gizmos that you’ll turn off because they are annoying anyway. And a new car won’t leave you stranded…oh…wait…they do. Electronic gizmos are causing more problems with cars these days, read this advertisement filled article on the Chicago Tribune and this letter to the editor in automotive news…anyway…stay away from new cars and buy this cheap Buick if you want reliability and comfort without Apple CarPlay and integrated body temperature monitoring. Find this 2005 Buick LeSabre Custom bidding for $5,000 with 4 days to go in Philadelphia, PA via eBay.
The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was introduced in 1965 and has the remarkable distinction of being the first Rolls to be built with unibody construction. The factory in Crewe built and sold an astonishing 30,057 examples of this ode to opulence before it was replaced with the Silver Spirit after the 1980 model year. These […]
Jaguar coupes have been gorgeous cars since Ernesto Jaguar was a little boy sketching his designs on Big Chief Tablets, and the X100 generation XK was no exception. Assembled in Coventry from 1997 through 2006, the XK added some soft lines to the angular XJ coupe and evokes the legacy of the E-Type. Mechanical & […]
Here are two words that don’t go together. LeMans and Safari. LeMans is a city in France that hosts a prestigious 24 hour race for sports racing cars and a Safari is fun filled vacation for wealthy people where they stalk rare wildlife and get sand in their cargo pants. Here is one more word […]

The 3rd and final generation of the Lincoln Town Car was built from 1998 through 2011 on a chassis shared with the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis/Marauder, and Hongqi Qijian. Out of the million Town Cars built in this generation, a few were of the plus “long wheelbase” version that added 6 inches of rear […]
This next car isn’t the car that Robert De Niro’s character (Ace Rothstein) drove in Casino, because that was an El Dorado…but it probably has similar bomb absorbing underbody panels and is so seriously gangster that I can’t help but smile. This is the kind of car that a gangster like Vito Genovese or Crazy Joe […]
Ford was still using the old school “full sized model year” designation for its big cars when the 1960 Ford hit the showrooms, even though they had started selling compact Falcons and the sporty Thunderbird. Naturally the big Ford was a popular item and was sold in a number of different body shapes/styles including the […]
