Big Block Mudder: 1985 Subaru BRAT
The Subaru BRAT (Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter) was a funky little pickup truck owned by a few notable folks over the years, such as Ronald Reagan and Master Rex Kwon Do. Today’s BRAT features the strength of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma, and the wisdom of a man. Get ready to drop some bad guys with a roundhouse kick from this 1985 Subaru BRAT mudder here on eBay
bidding for $2,555 reserve-not-met with a $5,000 buy-it-now.
This isn’t the BRAT you will use to take your kids to school or head to the local Home Despot for a load of lumber, but a stock BRAT is so pedestrian. This BRAT, on the other hand, is all about terrifying pedestrians, and looks to be a tribute to something from Carmageddon the video game.
Power comes from a 572 cubic inch Chevrolet big block V8 fed via a 1100 cfm Demon carburetor and exhausted via headers that go straight up. Power heads via a TH400 transmission with a beefy transfer case, serious gears front/rear and eventually into 39 1/2 inch boggers on beadlocks.
If everything runs, I can’t see how you can go wrong at $5k for this…can you? Personally, I’d drop it down onto some WRC sized wheels and turn this into the ultimate Ken Block style drift machine.

You aren't a child of the 80's if you didn't immediately think of this:

I still have 2 Stomper 4x4s! Not the Brat, though. More's the pity.
Actually I first thought of the Tamiya RC Brat, because of the wheel profile.
