1k: Seller Submission: 1991 Nissan 300ZX Z32

Far too often an advertisement on ebay or craigslist shows a few unfocused photos of a car, (maybe a Sasquatch or El Chupacabra in the background) and then a brief disclaimer about the car being XX years old and not perfect.  Even the term “zero rust” is thrown around on cars that look like they’ve been dredged from the bottom of Lake Pontchartrain and the seller is sitting there with a gator gnawing on his leg saying how nice it is.  What is preferred is an honest and candid description of the car with dozens of high quality photos and a chance for buyers to decide what they want to pay…like this 1991 Nissan 300ZX currently bidding on ebay $1,225 with 3 days to go.  Submitted by Mike K.

Here is a simple ebay auction just as Pierre Omidyar would have liked it.  No reserve to protect the seller (reserve should be minimum bid folks), no hidden or exposed buy-it-now price and no funny business. Sure, it is an Nissan 300ZX that looks like its got a bad case of leprosy, but the seller isn’t trying to auction pass it off as a perfect example that just needs an oil change.  This is a fair car for a fair price.

Even in this dilapadated condition it isn’t hard to imagine that the 222 horsepower VG30DE 3.0 liter V6 would be fun to hoon with its 5-speed manual gearbox.  This car is even so ugly that you wouldn’t mind kicking the tail out on a snow day or driving it through your neighbor’s hedges a few times.

Are you trying to imagine how nice this thing would look with a decent paint job…or is that just me?  tips@dailyturismo.com
