Mid Week Match-Up: What Would GI Joe Drive?
It is Wednesday so that means it’s time for another edition of Daily Turismo’s game of pin the tail on the donk — also known as Mid Week Match-Up! Last week, we asked readers for an idea for a road trip car and were inundated with great suggestions (particularly tempting was this grandma owned Q45 suggested by Rich). This week, in preparation for the 4th of July we are going to ask our readers to find a car for the real American hero known as GI Joe. What is the right car for America’s moveable fighting man?
Of course GI Joe is going to need a domestic pickup because ‘Murica, and why wouldn’t he have one decorated in the stars and stripes that don’t run. You can buy GI Joe’s 1992 Chevrolet C/K Pickup 2500 on ebay, it is currently bidding for $5,000 reserve-not-met with one day to go in Argyle, TX.
What ride would you suggest for the Cobra fighter? Comments below.
1944 Power Wagon
A Barbie Ferrari?
Just a simple ol' lifted Blazer with a 350 and a top-mount gun rack. Wait this isn't G.I. Billy Bob?
A domestic pickup? Try the Tundra.
According to Cars.com, it's more 'Murrican than any Chevy or GMC. Of course, the for the full Amerigasm, go for an F150, which tops the list.
Well Then. The simple answer here is find the cheapest, largest & least practical surplus military vehicle clanking around the suburbs of Chicago. Clearly THIS should get the job done.
If you go to a military base or surrounding community, our modern-day GI-Joe's and Josephine's almost without exception drive around in crap like this.
Those of us who have normal vehicles are in the minority.
The correct answer is a surplus 1982 Chevy K20 LWB with the 6.2l diesel in faded OD green.
