Mid Week Match-Up: Jokers Wild
Today’s mid week match-up is an open post with you, dear reader, helping with the match. That means I want you guys in the comments to give your car needs — budget, location, constraints — in the comments, and then folks will reply in a nested comment to your needs.
What do you need? Comments below.
It's my birthday and today I am 38. What vehicle do I need?
Happy birthday! You need a VehiCROSS. Everyone does.
Another brat from 1978, of course:

Stev – you may have the answer. Looking at that Brat, I realized how similar they are to a Triumph Stag if you squint just right…
Zach — it's your birthday, go big, or go home. 1970 Ford Mustang Fastback

Happy birthday man!

In a few more years, you'll be ready be ready for a midlife crisis…bit why wait when you can start now?! Corvette would be too obvious, so I'd recommend something fun like a drag car that runs 10's with style. How about a 1968 Cougar with a 501 stroker motor?

Zach — what about this 1992 Nissan D21 lifted on Wrangler Axles front/rear.
Sub $4,000 pick-em-up truck. Can be long or short bed, manual or automatic. I've had everything from an early 1980s Toyota longbed diesel 2wd to an early 1970s Chevy. Will be used for hauling construction materials and yard debris as I renovate my house. Needs heat, but A/C not necessary. MPG pretty irrelevant. Location: WV. Prefer recent inspection so I don't get stuck having to do brakes, tires, windshield, etc.
AbnMike, I'd recommend a V8 swapped S10, because it would be fun and checks all your other boxes. Looks like a clean swap, just needs paint if that's important to you.

Everybody wants a Ford or a Chebby pickup…so go for the underdog, and get a Dodge. Cheap, reliable-ish, and cheap.
Jeez you're right:
dodge diesel
Buddy of mine needs a new car. He spends most of his time playing iracing, and I'd love to get him on a real track one day. He's divorced, 29 and needs something that says "lol sux to be my ex-wife". Currently he's driving his Dad's old Chevy conversion van, but I have yet to hear him complain about that. Budget ~5-10k. He's a good enough friend that I'd help him with any mechanical trouble up to a blown head gasket, so reliability isn't mandatory, but I don't want to replace a transmission for him. Location: SW Ohio.
Hunter, for your friend I would recommend something European, perhaps a Mercedes CL500. Reliability not so much, but lots of class and plenty of power to be fun even with the automatic.

Hunter — nothing says "You shouldn't have left me" like a successful cash business that is free from alimony/hegimony/money-money obligations. Bonus if that business is also your transportation. Like this 1991 Soft Serve Ice Cream Truck offered for $9900 in Dayton. One-piece fiberglass body on some front-wheel-drive chassis…this thing would make the most awesome Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal tribute vehicle.
