Mid Week Match-Up: Best Advertisement
It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for another edition of Daily Turismo’s better than becoming a freegan game also known as Mid Week Match-Up! Today’s MWMU isn’t going to be another search for another low budget car — not quite — it is a search for the best automotive related advertisement you can find. Old, new, print, video — doesn’t matter.
The best I could find is this Shell Motor Oil magazine advertisement that dates from the time when acid was blamed for engine wear and (judging by the artists creation) LSD was not yet classified as a Schedule I narcotic by the DEA/FDA etc. What is the best automotive related advertisement you can find?

but ironic always does it for me
I like the ones you guys came up with! Here are a couple of my favorites:

No Korean hamsters were injured in the making of these advertisements.
Hard to pick a favorite, but in terms of print campaigns, I've always admired old Land Rover Range Rover ads and of course most witty Porsche: No Substitute ads.
Here's a personal favorite:

When I was growing up (in the '60s) I remember seeing this ad when it was new, in the winter, in New England. This was back in the day when everyone we knew owned one "big car" and a 'bug' for commuting.
As a natural gas advocate, I'd like to run an ad in the same tone which starts with "Ever wonder where the electricity that powers a clean electric car comes from?", with shots of snow covered solar panels and parked windmills. Then a a couple of shots of a blue flame on a stove, family and friends cooking on a natural gas bbq grille. Then, follow it with a quick clip of the new gen Scirocco's racing on CNG, with the tag line. "Natural gas, it cooks your dogs and hauls your buns!". (I'm sure someone with some German skills can come up with something equally rhythmic but correct for Google's clumsy ..Erdgas es kocht Ihre bratten und schleppt Ihre Brötchen)

the Saab 96 commercial where they roll it down a ski slope then drive it away – can't find the video anywhere – this updated version isn't as convincing, somehow – youtube.com/watch?v=RS12LOZiu08
Well, I'm not sure it is "good", but it certainly is trippy:

It plays great……not just Trippy, also crazy!
How could I forget this one.

Do I win???
You want to win for a small…? That doesn't seem right. No sir, not right at all.
