LS Swapped Wagon: 1998 Volvo V90
The 900-series platform was the final iteration of Volvos front-engine rear-drive sedan/wagon platform that started with the 140-series in 1967 (which itself was derived from the Amazon/120 platform which launched in 1956 based on the previous PV444…you see where this is going). Regardless, the V90 was the final name put on the back of a rear-wheel-drive Volvo with properly positioned drivetrain and the only logical choice if you want to shove a V8 under the hood and chew anybody’s ass from 20 to 100. This might not be the legendary third Newman-Letterman V8lvo, but it is offered for a price that isn’t insane and should be great to haul around your family. Find this 1998 Volvo V90 with LS-swap offered for $13,900 in Laguna Niguel, CA via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

1998 V90 sleeper wagon. The flagship of the mark complete with ALD and single, transverse mounted composite rear leaf spring. Last of the RWD wagons.
200k+ mi on all original / no accident body.
Used as the family beach wagon. Car is all stock with the exception of the drivetrain and works very well for our family’s needs. This car is not a stop light assassin (have other tools for that), however it is very amusing, sounds amazing and is very reliable and easy to drive.
Approx 120k mi on the drivetrain (4.8L/4L60E). Z28 tune gets car up to around 300 reliable horses.
AC just added and final tuning / shakedown complete to tune of over $3k (invoices included).
Drive the car anywhere.
Lights, Gauges, sunroof, windows, ac, locks, radio all work.
Interior in exceptional condition but floor mats could use a shampoo. Carpet is in nice shape. 3rd row seating.
cruise control, headlight wipers, window switch to control driver rear window from driver side door panel is inop (switch works from rr dr side seat).

I always wanted one of these converted Swede Wagon’s
But doesn’t the 4.8 have problems or everyone prefer’s the 5.3 and larger LS motor’s.
Has California plates in the photo but ad reads “Clean PA title (plan was to register out of state)”.
Does this translate to “you are on your own with the BAR referee” if you want to register it in California?
