Knight Rider KITT: 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

The Pontiac Trans Am was known well for its starring role as KITT in the campy 80s TV show Knight Rider, and there is an entire industry of parts to convert your ordinary TransAm into a turbo boosting beast with a feminine voice. It won’t drive itself, but it will convince your neighbors that David Hasselhoff is your uncle. Find this 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am offered for $20,000 in Saugus, MA via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

This is sweet! I wouldn’t buy it myself partly because it’s a bit beyond my means and I’m not really into the whole movie/tv car thing other than maybe Speed’s Mach 5. I remember seeing Kitt at a Dallas area car show as a kid. They had the Pac Man and the Red high heel car next to it. Good times!
The cockpit video sound of KITT is hilarious!
Apparently the “self-diagnosing function” is… well, not working very well right now…
-Stan (who is *not* related to David Hasselhoff in any way, and very happy about that)
I wonder what the turbine module includes… although I’d probably only be interested in it if it happens to have been put together by Gale Banks or Reeves Callaway.
Very impressive replica, down to the right license plate.
