Crown V8 Conversion: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair
How can it possibly still be autumn? I had to scrap ice off my windshield the other day here in sunny So Cal, but the so called “experts” keep telling me that the first day of winter is tomorrow. FIDDLESTICKS, POPPYCOCK, CLAPTRAP, & BALDERDASH I SAY TO YOU GOOD SIR. It is winter as sure as this is the most awesome car currently for sale on fleabay. Find this 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Crown V8 here on eBay bidding for $7,100 reserve-not-met located in York, PA.
The Corvair represented a brief, but failed, foray into aircooled rear engined automobiles by General Motors, and it was a great car. Like the vast majority of classic aircooled rear-engined things with 4-wheels, the Vair isn’t that fast stock, but becomes a monster when you shove a huge domestic V8 where the rear seats used to be.
This is a “Crown Corv-8” conversion that was done a number of years ago, but it does have a roll cage and the seller says it was raced years ago on some road race tracks. If the reserve is anywhere near, this will be a fantastic buy for someone.
