Cheap Threesome: 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT
Why does it seem like everything is better in 3’s? Three of a kind, 3 piece suits, trilogies, BLT’s, Destiny’s Child…and of course the elusive ménage à trois. When it comes to cars, I say “3 cheers for 3 pedals!” Find this 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT for sale in Philadelphia, PA for $1,600 via craigslist.
16 Benjamin’s for a 16 year old car equals reasonable transportation, and if your looking for a sleeper then a 3-pedal Grand Prix GT will do nicely. Reasonably stylish, decent power on tap, comfort for 4, and a pudding spoon to direct the torque. The white over grey is a classy look, and the shape is stealthy enough to puzzle local law enforcement when trying to pick a speeding car out on the highway.
GM’s 3800 series V6 is virtually bullet-proof and with proper maintenance can see upwards of 300K before serious repairs surface. The seller does list some known issues with the car but heck, that’s part of the fun! The engine compartment looks like it was hit with Gunk and plenty of hot water. Shiny bits everywhere,
The interior looks to have held up well over the listed 127K on the odometer. Seats look clean and comfortable. The interior might even be nice enough to keep this car out of beater territory. I suspect a few sheckles were dropped at the local Sudzy Wash prepping this car for the photo shoot.
Nothing really special to add here, but if your looking for spirited, driving-induced giddiness this could be a sure bet. Just good old fashioned fun in a vehicle that uses a triangle for it’s logo…everything is better in 3’s!

When not receiving complaints of “distracted by cars…again” from his wife, Glenn can be found in the kitchen whipping up exotic cuisine and nourishing nosh.
I think I need to see Dr. Del about my eyes…the interior shot morphed from a manual transmission in the ad to an automatic in the shot above… I like your writing style Glen, keep up the good work
Nuts…foiled by another mislabeled Craigslist ad! I should have caught the mistake with the pictures…but got all excited about threesomes instead! Live & learn!
No worries Glenn sadly at my age the BLT got me more excited than the other stuff…mmm bacon

Sadly, it appears the third pedal is a parking brake. Looks like another seller who checked the wrong box, accidentally making a Craigslist listing far more interesting. I'm pretty sure you couldn't get that generation Grand Prix with a manual, but I have seen them swapped in.
A buddy in college got one of these, but it was the GXP (GTP?) with the supercharger and the 'heads up' display that showed your speed, we thought it was pretty hot stuff at the time!
This series of GM platform, Pontiac or other , never ever had a manual transmission option. Ever.
You completed a few fine points there. I did a search on the subject and found nearly all persons will go along with with your blog. Entretien ménager
