Big Bird: 1977 Pontiac Firebird TransAm
Do you remember how terrible the cars were in the late 1970s? No? You’ve forgotten? Great! Time to pick up a classic from the disco era and re-live those fantasies about how great cars were “back in the day.” Find this 1977 Pontiac Firebird TransAm offered for $13,999 in San Antonio, TX via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.
Feast your eyes upon the glorious ThunderChicken that is standing tall with outstretched wings on the hood of this yellow machine. That thing alone is enough to forget that the 6.6 liter engine puts out about as much power as a small 4-cylinder engine from Northern Europe, but the Saab Turbo didn’t make you hum the American the Beautiful each time you catch a glance of it.
This Goldenrod beauty is equipped with a 4-speed manual gearbox and a set of leather bucket seats that will never run in the face of danger or submit to the communist menace.

Wow, already gone. Must have been the 8-track tape player…
$14K was a screaming deal why it's gone already; cars were terrible in the 70's except the Trans Am, especially a yellow 4speed with a 400 T/A
Agreed! Even though these cars were choked to death by emission controls, it was still one of the more compelling cars at the time. My buddies 73' SD455 4spd manual TA was just red screaming a monster and even though this 77' only put out about 180hp it still had to torque to make you THINK you were going fast… and after all.. isn't that what it's all about? This thing is just plain fun!
