Acura V6 Swap: 1995 Mazda MX-5
Why would you drop an Acura V6 into a Mazda Miata? Or, why wouldn’t you? The V6 from the Acura TL Type S made something around 260 horsepower from the factory and will be a considerable upgrade from the original wheezy 4-banger from Mazda. Now, go hit some VTEC, yo! Find this 1995 Mazda MX-5 offered for $13,500 in Knoxville, TN via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

I’ve got about this much money into my turbo build right now and it’s still on jack stands and needs body work so I’d say this is a decent deal assuming the AC is on there. When my jeep was down I was shopping for another daily driver and saw that older Miatas are getting expensive.
At the end of the month I’m scheduled to go into the shop with mine to do the final things (Tune, something with the flywheel/starter and double check my work so I don’t die) to make it ready for the road after I threw every performance part I could afford on it, that will add another $3-5k once they go over it for me. When I went there last week to consult with the shop owner, I asked if he partners with a paint/body shop on projects and he said no, but said his car’s paint was $30k, which was bonkers money to me. I could buy a beach house for that much.
Well it says “cold air” in the ad, but also “heater repair?” , so does that mean working AC and no heater or that the heater blows cold air?
30k beach house makes me wonder what beach it is on. Sounds more like van by the river money to me.
Seems like a deal other than a distrust of rust and body damage in the text but not the photos and the “selling for a friend “ routine.
I missed the cold air mention in there.
I’ve been trying to get comps for a house on the beach down in southern Brazil (Tramandai, RS for the interested) that I’m inheriting and trying to unload. You aren’t far off from van down by the river at that price. Keep in mind the exchange rate is $1/$R5 so there is a lot of purchasing power compared to the old $1/$R2 days. There are a few there that are relatively ok for a bit more…but then you are in Brazil. Love the scenery but I don’t want to deal with the craziness that comes with living there. Like getting robbed and whatnot.
If you are still interested in going down the Brazil property rabbit hole https://www.vivareal.com.br/ is a good site to browse.
