1939 Chevrolet Ratrod vs 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D

If you want to run the Gambler 500, you could be tempted to build your own car from your wife’s minivan or whatever hulk is leaking in your driveway…but that would be a mistake. Because the Gambler 500 is a strange off-road (and on-road) Rally style adventure where reliability of your hulk is as important as speed or off-road capability, so what you need is a Gambler proven hulk, like this 1939 Chevy Ratrod offered for $55k or this 1984 Mercedes-Benz 300D offered for $1500, both via craigslist. Tips from Safety Fast and Dave in Tampa respectively.
