A Challenger Appears: 2007 Cadillac CTS Performance

BMW’s infamous 3 Series (that is currently inexplicably also badged as a 4 Series) is the benchmark for sport-luxury sedans across the automotive world…and for good reasons.  So when a competitor says they’ve built a 3 Series beater, all of the automotive press rolls their collective eyes (or “i”s..heh!) and gets ready to defend the crowd favorite. But I had a chance to drive a competitor from Detroit back-to-back with the 3er about a decade ago…and I liked the CTS better. Does the Caddy withstand the test of time, or was it just a fluke? Find this 2007 Cadillac CTS Performance here on eBay bidding for $3,300 with 1 day to go, located in Cookeville, TN. Tip from DM.

This Cadillac has a neat list of options. Check out the picture of the RPO’s, and google them!!  It runs and drives very well, it’s tight and responsive, fly in and drive it home. Everything works on the car as it should. The A/C is cold, the heat is hot, heated/power seats work great. Power sunroof works great. The interior is in decent shape for its age. No rips on splits in the seats (there is some minor staining on the seating surface of the front passenger seat though).

As mentioned before, it runs and drives very well. This car can be driven home by its new owner. It does have some imperfections though. The first is, there is evidence of some minor accident damage at the rear of the car. It has a clean title, so it’s not major, but you can see some wrinkling near the trunk seal when you open the trunk. It is not visible when the trunk is closed. See the picture of the car with the trunk open. Upon close inspection, you can also see evidence of bodywork on the passenger side rear fender near the tail light. The car has been repainted in the past and it’s a mediocre paint job. It has some ripples in the driver’s door and some dings on the roof. The wheels are shiny, and have new tires, but they each have marks and scratches consummate to 11 years of daily use. Another thing that needs to be mentioned is, it has a slow battery drain. You can drive it as far as you want, it will start first time every time. The alternator is good and it has a brand new battery, but if left un-driven, it will drain its battery. Sometimes it will be fine if left un-driven for a week, other times it will drain it overnight, it’s intermittent. I have not spent time diagnosing it, but I feel like it may be something simple like an interior light coming on at night, or the trunk light perhaps…. I have a battery disconnect installed on the battery that I just twist if I’m leaving the car overnight and it disconnects the battery.

I am selling this car with all issues that I know of listed. It is being offered with no reserve, as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Please ask any questions before bidding.
