5k: Pull The Pin: 1982 Ford Granada
The Ford Granada is well known in classic Mustang circles as a donor vehicle for disc brake, spindle and axle donor parts, but it should not be confused with the European built Ford (of Germany) Granada. The American 1975-80 Granada was based on the Maverick/Comet platform, but it got a short reprieve from the automotive grim reaper and subsequently lived on the Fox platform from 1981-82. Find this 1982 Ford Granada offered for $3,600 in Harrisburg, PA via craigslist. Tip from Aaron K.
This Granada has thrown aside whatever it was originally equipped with – either the Lima 4-cylinder, Thriftpower inline-6, Essex V6 or 255 Windsor V8 for a 355 cubic inch Windsor V8 mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The 255 Windsor (4.2 liter) was a hastily assembled attempt to get good fuel economy with a 112 horsepower de-bored version of the 302 Windsor. Gaining a hundred cubic inches and some proper aspiration should turn this Granada from a snooze-fest to a real bruiser.
