5k: 6 Banger 6 People: 1971 Ford Torino Wagon

The Ford Torino was named after the Italian city of Turin, but the giant Torino was designed and built in Detroit, a city where space is not a premium. The Torino was originally marketed as an upscale version of the intermediate Fairlane sedan, and eventually the Torino name took the lead from Fairlane.  Find this 1971 Ford Torino Wagon currently bidding for $3,550 on ebay with 2 days to go.

The Torino was restyled in 1970 with a sleek “coke bottle” shape
designed for aerodynamics and to emulate 60s fighter jets, but with 250 cubic inch inline-6 power this one does not have the speed to match its aero look.  This thing is in serious need of a CobraJet engine swap.

This Torino is offered as an un-restored and original survivor, but it looks in great shape and I’d be surprised if the interior hasn’t ever seen some work.
