10k: El Camino’d Town Car: 1991 Lincoln Linchero
The 1991 Lincoln Town Car (2nd generation) was the first Ford product to get the new 4.6 liter modular V8 engine that replaced the 5.0 in everything by the year 2000. The town car was a simple sedan, but if was purchased in large quantities for taxi and luxury transport needs, so what better test bed to rack up miles on the new engine design. The Town Car was only available as a sedan, so if you wanted a pickup, you’ll need to head into the deep south. Find this (tragically named) 1991 Lincoln Linchero offered for $8,500 in Waynesboro, MS via craigslist. Tip from Sneedy.
Look, I get it. Lincoln + Ranchero = Linchero…but…given the location, do you think it is a good idea to use a synonym for lynch in your car’s custom name? Perhaps it would be better to ignore the Chevy/Ford feud and call this one a Lincamino or even Rancholn…which sounds like a ranch for colons…
The inside of this Linchero looks decent – but it is hard to tell if the back seats have been preserved like yesterday’s green Zephyramino from the future , a big plus for Camino lovers with a family. Unfortunately the asking price on this one is a bit high for the typical El Camustom, but it should come down as the owner shouldn’t get many calls at this price.
