15k: Time Change Tuesday; 1974 BMW 2002 5-spd

Welcome to the Daily Turismo time change special!  We will celebrate the rolling forward of our clocks with cars whose odometers have rolled forward a bit and who will give you great joy driving home in the newly discovered evening sunlight.  Find this 1974 BMW 2002 for sale in Chula Vista, CA currently bidding for $8,700 with 3 days left to go.

The BMW 2002 is one of those iconic cars that puts smiles on peoples faces everywhere you go.  This one has been fitted with small European bumpers that according to the seller have been “properly installed following the original arrangements.”  The jury is still out on the gold mesh BBS wheels – but the seller will include the original wheels if the buyer would prefer OE rolling stock.

This 2002 is powered by a 2.0 liter inline-4 that when equipped with a carburetor puts out 99 horsepower and 106 ft-lbs of torque.  This one is mated to a 5spd from a BMW 318 – giving it a much more useable character that should help push around the 2300 lb coupe.

The inside of this 2002 looks in decent shape and is claimed mostly original, but the the steering wheel is aftermarket and the seats look far too stuffed and comfy for OE 2002 seats…perhaps an expert can let us know.

Happy time change to all of our readers and we hope that this blue beauty will find a new home now that evening is longer and mornings are darker.  We expect this auction to end somewhere between $10k and $15k, but we’ve been surprised before.
