15k: Ending Soon: 1974 BMW 2002 Tii

Who isn’t a fan of the BMW ‘new class’–introduced in 1962 with the
1500, later adding the 1600, 1800, 2000 & 2002– and particularly of the 2002 Tii.  Unfortunately for the average Fritz, the Tii models have skyrocketed in popularity and price in recent years, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a nice one for less than $15k if you try really hard….like this 1974 BMW 2002 Tii currently bidding for $14k with less than one hour to go on ebay, located in Las Vegas, NV.

For years the 2002 has been a great starter car and the European
equivalent of the Ford Mustang or Datsun 510.  They are inexpensive, parts are
plentiful/cheap and, most importantly, they are easy to understand,
diagnose and fix when things go wrong.

The Tii added Kugelfischer fuel
injection to the 2.0 liter engine in the regular 2002 and delivers on its promise of more power and greater fuel economy.  The little engine puts out 130 horsepower, 130 ft-lbs of torque and is mated to a 4 speed manual transmission.

The interior looks nice and clean with the addition of an aftermarket stereo and at least one gauge that isn’t original [Ed CFlo: that’s the original Tii clock on the dash].
