Turbo LS V8 6-Speed: 1987 Volvo 740 Wagon
Another day, another V8 powered Volvo wagon offered for sale, but this one has a manual gearbox and some sweet gold wheels and a bunch of other upgrades. The asking price is a smidge more than I’d like to pay for something as silly as a V8 Volvo, but this one is gonna be as fun as the infamous Yoshifab V8lvo. classic 80’s brick with the beef. $18k or b/o. ALL offers considered!! 2nd owner car and meticulously clean alluminum 5.7 ls with a fresh magnum t56 (long gear option) and stock LS6 clutch. i bought trans brand new (have receipts for freight and every single purchase for the car) has less then 5,000 miles on it. she buttery:) ls has ran strong naturally aspirated for over 3 years with legit zero issues. i did the whole swap and has all the ls trinkets. decided to boost it 2 months ago but things change and it’s time to go. new turbo vs racing 78/75 gen 2 billet turbo. 44mm wastegate on hotside with all the fixings. full tig welded all v-band stainless headers, , 2.25”crossover w/ flew bellow, dump tube, 3” downpipe and exhaust. . . mishimoto 31x12x3 ic, huge dual pass aluminum rad. all brand NEW.. tial bov is used. -10an welded valve covers / complete catch can set up. mint! autometer electric oil, temp, boost and fuel pressure gauges. larger jegs rails with -6 crossover. stock injectors still. runs on a PSI harness and ecu currently but have brand new Holley term X in the box yet to be installed. comes with small electric display and wideband sensor for dp and da bung is ready for the sauce! only one issue is with the turbo oil drain angle according to VS racing. and didn’t get around to make a fan shroud yet. car hasn’t been driven on the street at all , with “lack” of tune i dare not hurt the motor. only idled to burp coolant system. has all the regular build seasonings.. BC coil overs , roll steer correctors, larger front sway bar, brand new toyo r1R tires, larger dia. and extended axle studs. lsd volvo rear w/3:73s. walbro 255 in tank with corvette style filter/regulator. with all -8 fuel line. bent momo steering wheel, but she real, no power steering or creature comforts bc race car. but i do have custom pressure line made and fittings if one decide to install a pump . full kill mat under the rug. custom 3” driveshaft. dope headliner for the ladies , rear seat deleted can sleep two people no problem banging gears. has manual sunroof and fairly newish knock off wheels i got in a trade. interior is beautiful except driver leather is worn. typical volvo. paint shows it’s age but body is straight af. car is 34 years old remember! come take a look or contact for any questions or pics don’t hesitate:)comes with lots of parts and also new turbo blanket , larger fan, spare gaskets, wastegate springs , clamps, good extra stainless pipe from the build etc. i’m probably forgetting like a hundred things but the car ripped with the stock un ‘molested ls1. hurts to not know how it feels boosted but i have bigger fish to fry. thanks y’all!

Danger, Will Robinson! An unsorted turbo added and now for sale says uh oh to me. I Otherwise love this car, as there are reasons why there are so many v8 Volvo wagons out there. Not sure how long the stock diff will last.
As luck would have it I purchased a 740 Turbo yesterday myself, although it was not THIS 740 Turbo. Ours is stock and might last longer than a V8 swapped one but that all depends on what my 19 year old son does inside the engine bay….
I would love this but would have to put AC on it in Texas, it’s not even a question. The only car I can drive w/out AC here is a convertible.
So dumb to add a turbo to this….
