Thursday Twister: Favorite Car
Today’s Thursday Twister subject is simple — what is your favorite car. No budget, no BS, what is the car that you’d own if money was not an object or a hindrance.

Me? Why thanks for asking. I’d drive a Ferrari 250 GTO every day of the week. Kids? Yeah, they can walk to school or take an Uber, because my 250 GTO has a full cage and doesn’t have a radio.
What about you? What is your car to drive every day?
1971 Plymouth valiant.
Slant 6 with A/C
Colour: Burnt Orange
1958 Ferrari GT250 Tour de France in white over dark metallic blue with red interior.
I would have a hard to deciding between these three: Alfa Remeo Montreal, Ferrari Testarossa, or Mercedes W124 Hammer
Oh man… I hate to be a pain, but it's down to two as I can't decide:
> Fully restored (yet mildly "restomoded") 1969 Lamborghini Miura
> Fully restored and restomoded 1950 Mercury coupe, 3" chop top, etc. Think the movie "Cobra". Lame movie. Amazing car.
W126 560 SEC with custom 5-speed stick conversion, black on black
Seriously KBZ? You could buy one of those tomorrow! I'm pretty sure I saw a homeless man living in one the other day. I want the REAL unicorn, the insane car you could never afford… 🙂
ha! – i'm a modest guy – it would be a real splurge to have that custom transmission concocted – and you did say "daily" – a GTO on the speedbumps of SoCal? – i know whose kidneys will be happier three days in – but, ok, a brand new Ferrari FF wouldn't suck
residentially challenged guy should be driving the Roadmattress wagon, just sayin'
but getting back to the SEC for a sec, i remember reading an article in C&D or R&T or maybe it was MT back in the late 80s – they had interviewed a bunch of current and former F1 drivers asking what they drove off-duty – 560SEC, 560SEC, 560SEL, 560SEC – made an impression on me – so when i'm driving my SEC I can daydream i'm a 90 year old ex-F1 driver – wait…
Swayze approved choice
i actually had to look that up

"It's my way or the highway…"
Yeah, but what did Swayze drive to work.. '65 Riviera! Nothing like a nailhead for breakin' heads at the bar.
300SL with battle ship gray paint and red interior.
100% agree on the 300SL! Though I'd take mine in black.

1969 McLaren M6-GT
In red.
Designed before wind tunnels and ground effects.
Only 1 ever made (Bruce McLaren's test mule for McLaren Racing's first road car).
Options?
A couple dozen copies made my Trajan, when homologation rules changed. So those are pretty close.
Plus a couple hundred copies of the body made by the LoVette brothers in the 80s (molds supposedly taken from Bruce's original car). These have a variety of bodies/frames/powerplants

-Stan (the "stuck in the Can Am era" Stan…)
Stan — oooh….this is good. Maybe better than the 250GTO.
Lancia Stratos
S1 E2 Quattro.

Would love to use that for commuting.
Something about pulling up next to a Prius at a stoplight in one…
Alpine A110
A nice choice.

Lotus Elite or Alfa 8C2900

1967 Marina Blue Corvette convertible with hardtop, electric windows, power disc brakes, factory a/c. No stinger hood, no side pipes. Bone stock looking on the outside, with a fully massaged but still carbureted 327 so it looks bone stock under the factory air cleaner and can run on pump gas. Modern 6spd with vintage shifter, and just a little more rubber on the ground than it was born with.
Corvette, like so? – might be a 66

Close, but with the hardtop in place and with the wheels that I prefer, it looks like the image below.
No snorkus, no computer, no Italian forums, nothing to do but keep it full of gasoline, turn the key and floor it, for a year of trouble free driving.

I suck at remembering to close tags.
A Metro 6R4, specifically C869 EUD.

Oh yeah, I will need one of those houses with a glass living room/garage to go with it, thanks.
'73 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring
since I was probably 12 years old.
I recently got to drive one, and they say never drive your heroes…but in this case, everything I read was true, and the want burns even brighter.
My modern favorite has to be the 288GTO
As a child of the 80's, this would strike most as a Magnum PI special…but as a Group B fan, this makes me all fizzy…
'57-58 Cadillac ElDorado Brougham, in Black please.
I'd take me one of them diamond headlight, whale foreskin leather seat SUVs that made the news a while back or maybe a monster truck commuter. Lake?! We'll just drive through it.
I'll have to say Lancia D50. With it's wonky crooked V8 and all.

Singer 911.
White with black stripes with red pintstripes. Tartan seat and door inserts. Grommets on the seats. Brushed aluminum(nickel?) accents.
There's just something about them.
Yeah, I was hearing that Singer siren song too. The only reason I chose the '67 'Vette over the Singer was for the versatility of a true convertible and hardtop, and its been a bucket list car of mine for years. I had a '72 911 for my DT in the '80s and it was without a doubt the most enjoyable car I've ever owned.
Singer 911 here too – of all the cars I've been able to see up close… but
One of Colin Mcraes rally winning Subaru Imprezas would be number one fantasy car!

Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stradale

Great choice
Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato (If money is truly no object–my lottery car).
Bueno!
Late to the party, but:
1999-2000 Reynard ChampCar
Porsche 917k
1963 Corvette Grand Sport
If I start saving now I might be able to afford the ChampCar…forget about affording to run it…
