Explosive! 1986 Chevrolet Corvette C4
The C4 generation Corvette was a big styling change from the previous C3 Vette. Gone were the stingray inspired fender humps and instead the car featured Lotus Esprit meets a door style styling. It might be the bourbon speaking, but the C4 is starting to grow on me. Find this 1986 Chevrolet Corvette here on eBay offered for $9,990 buy-it-now or make-offer located in San Marcos, CA.
The C4 generation Vette isn’t exactly a collectible classic…yet…so the asking price might see a bit high for a car with worn seat bolsters, but what you can’t beat is the 32k mile odometer reading. This puts the car into interesting territory for future collectability– this car will always be more desirable to the guy who is looking for an investment versus the nicely restored car with 150k miles.
Behind the futuristic dash from the past you will find an L98 V8 good for 250 horsepower mated to a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Honestly the only thing you’ve got to wonder when looking at a car like this is, why not get a C5 Vette for another few grand– like this 1999 Vette with 64k miles offered for $15k.

Was never a fan of these did see a nice one go @ a towing auction for $3200 chessy build quality is what i came away with. Now a C-5 or C-6 is something i might buy.
I used to have a '86 Corvette in far worse condition; paid $3500 for it and I still miss it sometimes. Sure, the interior felt like it was built by Fisher-Price, and I think swapping the TPI motor with the 4.8 out of a Silverado would improve both vehicles at the same time, but the handling was amazing. I'm surprised you don't see more of them cut up and made into track cars.
Hmmm… maybe someone needs to launch a Spec C4 racing class.
