The Toyota Factor: 1994 Toyota MR2 Turbo

Could the 2nd generation Toyota MR2 turbo be the next Acura NSX? It is mid-engined and fun to drive and Japanese….so it could have a sudden jump in asking price. But in typical Toyota fashion, the MR2 was a bit too useful. Too driveable. Too easy to get in and out of the car. It needed to be 5 inches lower and 15 inches longer and have 25 more horsepower. Sure, you could lower it and add a big front splitter and open up the exhaust, but then you’d be one of those people who drive modified cars with fart can exhaust and NOT a seasoned enthusiast. So for about 1/5th the price of an NSX, you get a car with 1/5th the curb appeal, but 4/5ths of the performance and 5/4ths of the usability. Find this 1994 Toyota MR2 Turbo offered for $12,000 in Fremont, CA via craigslist.
