Straight-Eight: 1948 Buick Roadmaster Super 8

If you are going to drive an old car from the 1940s, it better be something with a straight 8. Don’t you dare swap in an 80s vintage carburetor fed small block Chevy V8, no matter how much more efficient, reliable, powerful, and better it is. Keep it straight. Straight-8. Find this 1948 Buick Roadmaster Super 8 offered for $12,900 in Valley Glen, CA via craigslist.

Such a nice car and I love the sound of a straight eight, but it sure didn’t come with that shade of red interior. Yikes!
I just looked at the craigslist ad and according to the map it’s just a few blocks from what was my great grandparents farm in Van Nuys 100 years ago when that was orchards way out in the country. Haven’t been there in 40 years.
Agree with Hugh. Beautiful car.
But change the interior color to something less cringy.
And imagine… and entire car you can wrench on yourself. The mind boggles…
-Stan (whose wrenching days are over, by choice, but still has fond memories of hours spend under the hood/chassis of an old beater I was bringing back to life…)
