Banana Seat: 1987 Volkswagen Golf

What’s up with people putting random pieces of fruit in multiple pics in a car listing. Remember the guy with the orange in the Bricklin SV-1 listing? This one. Yeah, that was weird, but today we’ve got a banana in the passenger seat of a VW Golf. Maybe it’s a anti-theft device — you just shove it into the exhaust pipe when you park the car. Find this 1987 Volkswagen Golf offered for $3,500 in Chicago, IL via craigslist. Tip from JayAhr.

Loved my VW Rabbits. Drove like blazes in the snow (back when front wheel drive was, well, kinda brand new…). Most of ’em needed valve jobs. Trick was to warm up the engine before changing the valves. You could do it in 1/4 the time!
Not sure about the banana. For scale, maybe? 🤔
