Spirit of SoCal: 1999 Porsche 911

It has been an interesting weekend with earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods (next week is locusts my translation of the Old Testament is correct) in Southern California, so why not celebrate a car that embodies the spirit of SoCal. What spirit? The spirit is the sun-soaked fusion of automotive hot rodding, where palm-lined streets become runways for unique rides to strut their horsepower and individualness. (Is that even a word? Hey – if the dictionary can include the pooh emoji, then I can make up my own words). Find this 1999 Porsche 911 offered for $21,999 in Torrance, CA via craigslist.

This is an amazing one of kind customized 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera coupe Painted by a 30+ years customized paint and body specialists with a very unique style. This is not a wrap!! The Yellow color on it is similar to the Mercedes Benz Sunbeam Yellow that the factory used on the Newer G-wagons models as an example. This Porsche 911 Carrera comes with a GT3 997 front end and body side skirts. The original GT3 rims and GT3 sway bars front and rear. But That’s not all! The original engine was swapped with another one with only 50k miles on it now. 40k was on it when swap was done! Original Mileage on odometer now reads 217,000 miles The Porsche got all new seals and gaskets done during swapped out. axles replaced too.
Full Clutch replacement from petal to engine.
Which includes throwout bearings master cylinder slave cylinder, clutch pressure plate and spring plate the whole deal! Porsche is also lowered with H&R adjustable coil springs for that great handling and nice ground effects. It’s got fab performance headers and brand new Catalytic converters. Recently Passed smog in California have certification.
This Porsche really sounds like a new Porsche IMSA Race Car. Meticulously kept up always garaged and services done on time. Oil changed done every 5k only used Mobile one. The Porsche was recently tuned up and I spent well over 4k on service. All tires are brand new recently replaced. The interior is in great condition all original no rips or tears. This Porsche is a major head turner and show stopper! A must see! serious inquiries only! No low ballers please!!!

I like everything about this car but the custom paint.
I was just about to say “I love the back 1/3 of this car.”
I like the orange too, but the change pattern is not my jam. That said beggars can’t be choosers and I’d happily take this car terrible paint scheme and all if I could.
What does this remind me of?
Earl Bruce’s 300 SL I think.

Sure, DT. Your site. Make your own words, if that is your preference. But the non-SoCal among us might consider typing “individuality”.
To me, this car’s exterior looks like what might happen if the Holstein/inkblot interior pattern was applied to the outside – in watercolor- then raced in one of those Dutch reverse gear races on a rainy afternoon.
Well, that’s one way to disguise a prior front end collision when you can’t properly color match the rear paint.
A bumper change and new paint is usually a necessity, not a choice. However, this one is so weird, it may just be an example of someone’s choice… and having more money than taste.
