Sleeper Camper: 1989 Isuzu Trooper II

I’ve always been too busy making a mess in my garage to be a good prepper, but after learning that the main plotline for the 2007 blockbuster I Am Legend is that a virus based vaccine has caused the world’s population to die or turn into mutant vampire-zombies…I’m thinking maybe I might need a good low-key bug-out vehicle. If I had a Pinzgauer, Laplander, or a 4X4 Quigley van, people are going to try and join me in an escape from the zombies, but if I had an Isuzu Trooper with rear seat delete and a hidden camper setup…that’d be stealthy and apocalypse ready. You’ll have to fix the headgasket before it goes anywhere, but that’s what garages are for, right? Ugg. I’m gonna be so hosed when the zombie apocalypse comes and all of my cars are apart. Can I get a ride? Find this 1989 Isuzu Trooper II offered for $4,500 in Culver City, CA via craigslist.

Very sad to say goodbye to my Troopy. Purchased last year and definitely didn’t plan on selling, but unfortunately a blown head gasket has got me reconsidering because funds are low at the moment.
It just happened, I’ve been driving regularly without issues. It starts and runs but wouldn’t recommend driving too far.
The previous owner had engine rebuilt at 160k so not sure if it was just a poor rebuild or failed radiator.

This would be a score for someone who could take it on…
Recently did the suspension (3k+) – shocks, ball joints, bushings etc and new axels. Also brakes, replaced belts, catalytic converter just before I bought, tires are good condition. Plus the camper build out is done for you! 🙂 Super practical and stealthy with matching original interior fabric lining the platform, solid construction, smooth drawer, wood top to cook on. Plenty of storage. I also have the original back seat.
I got a quote to rebuild the engine for $1350 plus tax, not including R&R.
Open to offers. Please text if you’re interested.
By the way the aluminum roof rack is brand new which I will be removing and selling separately, unless you’re interested I’d discount it with the truck.

Bummer dude………
All prepped out but no where to go and no way to get there..
