SamuR5i: 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5
The E20 generation Corolla was introduced in 1970 as a replacement to the original E10 Corolla. It was available in several body styles including a 2-door or 4-door sedan, 3-door or 5-door wagon, 3-door or 5-door van, and a 2-door coupe/fastback…the latter is the one you want. Find this 1974 Toyota Corolla SR5 here on eBay bidding for $17,100 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go, located in Tehachapi, CA.
This SR5 TE27 has what Toyota calls “coke bottle styling” but I call it sweet Japanese style from the early 70s. Everything from the generic proportions to the headlight surround just looks good — if you are into this kind of vintage Japanese classic.
Under the hood is a rebuilt 2L 2TG engine that breathes through a st of dual side draft Mikuni 44 carbs and a TRD cam to produce something around 200 horsepower according to the seller — it should be snorty and fast.
