I drove one of these as a loaner while my German mechanic was doing unspeakably expensive things to my A8. I think he thought he was being funny.
Things went wrong with this vehicle that just don’t happen on other cars. I remember the windshield wipers both flipping forward during a torrential downpour on the freeway, rendering me completely blind at 60mph. The starter motor never turned at the same speed twice.
What do you get if you take a brand previously known for an existential focus on durability and let the people at Triumph and Jaguar slap together some steel styled like a transit ticket booth over a plastic interior and an old Buick engine?

Eh, once you get these sorted life is pretty good. I’m a bit of a Rover nut (three in the fleet at the moment) and I picked up a 1995 Disco for my son for his first car. It now has 235k miles and is about to be passed to my daughter for her first car. Has performed beautifully.
Any particular years or configurations to look for or avoid? I’m always tempted by these because they’re plentiful and cheap… to buy at least.
