You know what they say — the only thing more expensive than an expensive Land Rover, is a cheap Land Rover. This is a fact of life that is well known and often ignored, but when you consider the ridiculous high asking prices for late model blob-SUVs, a cheap Ranger Rover is so tempting…you shouldn’t […]
The next car isn’t the most reliable thing you could buy…but it just might be the most reliable thing posted on DailyTurismo today, because I’m feeling in the mood for outdoor living. And what could be more outdoors than walking to your destination because your car broke down? Save the planet and get healthy, all you need to do is own unreliable cars! Find this 1999 Land Rover Discovery offered for $6700 in Santa Fe, NM via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.
This next car comes from tipper FuelTruck who writes: For the man who loves to get out of his daily rut, and get stuck in the muddy kinds. For the man that loves to get away from it all, and get towed back home. For the man who loves to stop and smell the roses, and pick up the fallen-off bits of his truck. Yes the Land Rover Discovery. The vehicle that will let you discover the wilderness, and the limits of your credit card all at the same time. Find this 2002 Land Rover Discovery II SE offered for $19,500 in Mount Pleasant, SC.
The 1995 Judge Dredd blockbuster movie was both terrible and great all in the same action cam shot. It had all the recipe for greatness, Sly the Stallone, a young Diane Lane, badguy Armand Assante, and funnyman Rob Schneider…but where it fell apart was design choice for future 2205AD vehicles. Yes, the flying motorcycles were cool, but it didn’t have the future-chic style of cars in films like The Fifth Element (or Demolition Man) or the dirty machines of the various Mad Max movies…but it did have one cool vehicle, a people transporter that looks like a transformer. And now you can own one. Find this 1976 Land Rover 101FC offered for $25,000 in Dallas, TX via craigslist.
We posted a Land Rover Series III the other day that was really just a collection of parts. Commenter Mountainwoodie got it right when he suggested the seller’s spouse had probably said: ”You better get that pile of junk out of the garage or I’m taking the kids and going to my mothers!” At least it was cheap. Anyway, this next Series III Land Mover is assembled and is probably worth the bump up in price. Find this 1981 Land Rover Series III 109 Diesel offered for $15,000 in Blue Island, IL via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.
I love a good challenge as much as the next guy…and I do enjoy assembling an occasional jigsaw puzzle with my kids…but this “Land Rover” is the jigsaw puzzle equivalent of taking 16 different 1000 piece-puzzles, mixing the pieces together, throw half of the pieces away, and stuff the remaining pieces inside of a raw turkey before baking to a crispy 165 degree internal temperature and then attempt to assembled the puzzle on a windy Thanksgiving afternoon wearing a blindfold and being pestered by a chimpanzee driving a skid-steer. However, I can’t think of a better way to spend 5 grand. I think I could rent a chimp and a skid-steer for that much. Find this 1973 Land Rover Series III offered for $5000 in Los Angeles, CA via craigslist.
If you’ve ever spent time under a car, you know what you can get with a little hard work and a pair of donor cars. All manner of crazy beasts start with a simple thought from some a mad scientist…but this next car is so perplexing that I’m going to have to give it the […]
This next car comes as a seller submission from Chris of the Secret Car Club…which isn’t so secret anymore because it is being listed on Daily Turismo which has a reach of about 4 people who might be able to afford a car that is a smidge above our self imposed $20k cap…and when I […]
A close child hood friend of mine has a teenage daughter who would literally rob a bank to drive any Land Rover. A teenager or unsuspecting adult would not fully understand at which or appreciate the fact that the only person who makes out on a massively depreciated car is your local indy mechanic. VW […]
I’ll be that guy who raises his hand and admits he knows nothing about this next model. I’m really not a Land Rover guy, so I don’t know if this next model is rare or desireable or a piece of crap, but I will tell ya that whenever I see one I think “ooohhh, I […]
