Mint Condition: 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais Indy 500 Pace Car

If you own a car with the words “Official Pace Car 69th Indianapolis 500, May 26, 1985” on the doors you are going to have a few conversations that go like this. Random dude: Wow, so that car was used as the pace car at Indy…that’s wicked. You: Well…it is actually a commemorative version of the pace car, one of 242 built. Random dude: So the folks at Indy 500 paid to have that on the side as advertisement..? You: No…actually the buyer had to pay more for this option… Random dude: Okay, well can you just stop parking it on my lawn, it’s killing the grass. If this kind of exchange gets you excited, you can pick up your 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais Indy 500 Pace Car here on eBay offered for $12,950 in Ozone Park, NY.

we are offering for sale a very rare OLDSMOBILE CALAIS 500 pace car. this is a 1 owner car with right around 20000 miles. this car starts up runs great with no leaks no smoke and no check lights. this IS AN ORIGINAL PACE CAR ONE OF ONLY 242 MADE IN 1985 ALL OF WHICH WERE ON THE INFIELD ON RACE DAY, so this is your chance to own a piece of history and only 106 of them were V6. in the last 40 years there were VERY FEW pace cars with a smaller production amount.these cars have become virtually extinct, and i dont believe you can find a nicer one. please review the pictures this car was always garaged and only driven to shows where it would routinely win first place. the interior is immaculate w no rips tears or dash cracks, but the headliner is starting to sag. the motor is smooth and quiet the transmission shifts well.

brakes suspension and tires are all excellent. this car is as good as you will find a pace car anywhere. the mileage is accurate the carfax is included in the last picture. this car does not come with a warranty due to its age. radio/trip display works itermitently as does the power antenna, all other items in good working order.it is available to be seen by appointment only. this is a fixed price sale with absolutely no trades and no offers. the buyer is responsible for shipping but we do have shippers we can recommend if you need one. we also provide free airport pick up for fully paid buyers. A $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED TO RESERVE THIS CAR! the balance is to be cash certified funds or wire transfer ONLY.

Just look at that interior! WOW!!
And you said the XK8 looked like a bordello…
That's not a bordello…that is a space station bordello.
A space station bordello is very similar to a bordello in many respects. Just sayin’.
Pretty sure the material in this machine is stain-proof – more perfecter for a bordello than the rich corintian, wait, no, Connolly leather in the Jaaaaaag.
Bordello-ish…-esque? Bordellish? The fact that all of these were in one place on May 26, 1985 seems like a missed opportunity as they could have all been sent to their rightful fiery demise all at once and in the span of a few minutes.
My iPhone keeps changing the swelling to Cialis. What were you saying about bordellos?
If your iPhone is causing swelling, do you need an app-ointment?
Ba dum, bum. Here all week. Tip waitress, try veal, and so forth.
I never thought I'd see the words CALAIS and OFFICIAL PACE CAR in the same sentence together.
"…only 106 of them were V6."
So that means 136 of them were 4-bangers?? Dang, the word MALAISE and CALAIS are more similar than I thought. Definitely unique though. Oldsmobile has, in my opinion, the distinct honor of having the worst Official Pace Car ever. I can not un-see this……..
Ooh, or the droptop flavor –

Whoever took Burt Reynolds' legendary jacket from Hooper and made these seats should be court-martialed…..
First thought: That is a seriously crack-pipe price.
Second thought: The seller might be able to justify the asking price by asking any would-be buyers to find another pace car edition Calais with 20,000 miles or less and see what it would take for the owner to sell it.
Third thought: Do such would-be buyers exist?
Hub caps on an Indy Pace Car. Priceless.
They actually aluminum, but yeah, looks like a cover, so even worse! ;D
So that's what they did with the left over material after moon boots went out of style.
I think the price is from Ozone….. Park…. NY….. NY
