Luxury Roadster: 2006 Cadillac XLR

The 2006 Cadillac XLR was a roadster that aimed to blend luxury with performance. With a sleek design and a retractable hardtop, it offered a convertible experience. Powered by a Northstar V8 engine, it provided a decent mix of power and refinement. The interior featured premium materials, emphasizing comfort and style and technological features like adaptive cruise control and Magnetic Ride Control added to its appeal. While not without its merits, the 2006 Cadillac XLR existed in a market saturated with luxury roadsters, making it a competent but not necessarily standout option in its class. Today’s XLR was donated by its owner to a scrap yard…whut? Find this 2006 Cadillac XLR bidding for $11,600 in Orange, CA via ebay with a few hours to go.

This begs the question of what luxo-roadsters are the best choices for a guy looking for a daily driver with style? Also, are there luxo-roadsters out there that didn’t have pneumo-magneto wonder suspensions that cost more to refresh than an aging trophy wife?
sad that they did not have a vid of the retractable roof in operation. you can see that on a pricier sample here. scrub to about 6:50.

guessing there are a buncha sensors that need to all operate in as-new harmony to make the thing work when you need it to do its thing.
“aging trophy wife” refresh comparo- caustic, but funny.
My guess is that the owner of that car knew EXACTLY what he was doing when he unloaded this car.
I hear that a pair of working tail lights is worth almost that much.
