Kill The Tires: 1974 Pontiac Ventura GTO

The Ventura name was first used by Pontiac as a higher priced version of their 1960 full sized Catalina, but with the release of the Grand Prix, the name was relegated to a trim option for 1962 through 1965. A few years later the Ventura name was revived for use on GM’s compact X-body platform and it was called the Ventura II for a few years before eventually becoming the Phoenix. Today’s example has risen from the ashes of an explosion at a Crayola factory. Find this 1974 Pontiac Ventura GTO offered for $6,500 in Bakersfield, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Not so sure about the paint job, but I dig it. I had a blue 73 nova hatchback in high school/college. It was rockin’ cherry bombs that would set off alarms in the mall parking lot when I was being a dumb kid.
It might be better with a little chrome instead of monochrome, but I approve of the color. Seems the best shades of color for something from the early ’70s is the sort of paint you’re tempted to check with a Geiger counter.
Agreed, I like the green, just needs the bumpers chrome and that interior looks nasty, but for $6500 it looks a reasonable deal.
I always say that there are no really ugly cars, so what the hell is that?

The BS meter is really going off on this ad. That kind of money barely buys you a roller, never mind a big block with an overdrive transmission.
They made a Ventura GTO in ’74, but that is Not one of them
