Gucci Luxury at Walmart Price: 2004 Rolls-Royce Phantom

Way back in 2004 (okay…it wasn’t that long ago…but just stay with me) if you had $320,000 burning a hole in your pocket you could have purchased a small condo in Florida or a lake house in Cleveland…but you can’t go to the grocery store in a home…but you can live in a car. But is a Rolls-Royce Phantom just a car? And yes, you would have lost $300k in depreciation (we will ignore the maintenance and fuel costs) which is $413k in todays dollars, so for the past 16 years, you’ve lost in depreciation; $25k per year, $2,150 per month or $71 per day or $3 per hour or 5 cents per minute. And that’s not cost per minute of use, but cost 24/7. Seems like a small price to pay for the luxury and refinement of a Phantom…maybe? Or you could save the money and buy the used/abused Phantom for about the price of a new Honda Civic. Find this 2004 Rolls-Royce Phantom offered for $23,500 in Minneapolis, MN via craigslist.
That’s it. No other pictures. Just some limited info from the seller:
condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Rolls-Royce
model name / number: Phantom
Includes the thick, plush, OEM lambskin wool carpets, a $2500 option. All four brake rotors, pads and sensors have been replaced.Stereo features a CD player in the dash
Here is a Smoking Tire youtube video (what’s up with ALL of the commercials on youtube recently, they’ve become insane) that shows some of the glorious V12 fun.
Nice. At least 95% of the population would have no clue as to what year this car was and you could pull off looking like a big shot!
I won’t get the few minutes I scanned through that video back, but when the car-lender-youtuber-influencer-person said, ‘Um, it’s daddy’s carrr,’ in response to the question of what it was to insure, I had to shut it down.
This is a scam ad. First, it’s listed in auto parts (free to place) vs. cars and trucks ($5/ad). Only 1 too-perfect picture, absurdly low price, TX tags in allegedly MN. I’m calling shenanigans.
