Grandpa’s Car: 1988 Toyota Tercel Hatchback
“Cool” car guys aren’t supposed to admit that they like basic economy cars from yesteryear, but I’m not cool, so I guess I’ll just go out and admit that I do a double take when a clean Toyota Tercel rolls by and I’m a sucker for the hatchback version that hasn’t been hacked up by some Pimp My Ride wannabe. Find this 1988 Toyota Tercel offered for $3300 in San Jose, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

a choice weapon…. if it was a stick
Agreed. I've got an 88 323 hatch with a manual and it's a great daily/city car. This one is so very very clean. Also over four times what I paid for mine. But only about half the miles. Granted my paint is completely blown out which makes it look like a hoopty and this one most definitely doesn't.
My second car. Mine was a stick too. Nice looking up to the taillights and that huge bumper. I'd like to have it,but it's too nice for nyc streets.
