French Connection: 1956 Renault 4CV
I’ve got to be honest with you guys today and admit that I’m really not an expert on the Renault 4CV market — and the going rate for one of the surviving examples of the million 4CVs produced from 1947 through 1961 is beyond my limited understanding…but…this next car just feels like a good deal compared to the other rear-engined aircooled crap littering the internet auction sites. Find this 1956 Renault 4CV offered for $11,500 in San Diego, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

CLASSIC 1956 Renault 4CV EXCELLENT Condition! Rare and beautiful! If you want something unique that’s a head turner here it is! Great gas mileage too! It’s not a speed demon but super fun to drive around the city or beach on the weekends. Rebuilt engine, generator, starter and new battery, beautiful custom paint, new interior including front seats, carpet kit, headliner and suede door panels. Back seat is in good condition and is original! So many new parts on this car, chrome hood hinges front & rear, door handles, door seals, emblems, stainless steel door runners, stainless steel front & rear bumpers and so much more. Lots of detail on this car! There are very few of these in the US. This one even has the orginal Yellow and black California plates! Everything looks excellent on this car! Solid floor boards but there is a little bubling in lower corners of the front doors. This would be very easy to cut out and repaint doors to make perfect but not very noticeable to drive as is. NO expense was spared in the restoration of this car. Current registrtation and ready to roll!

Priced at $11,500.00. May consider offers or trades.
Things still needed and are on my to do list- stereo and rear window moldings. Thats about all that’s left to do on this beauty.
New brakes and front end bushing kit Just done.
Super beautiful car that gets attention every where it goes!
All new tires just added!
Make me a reasonable offer. ready to sell now! Super cool, unique and rare little car!

Not an expert here either, but agreed, looks like it's in the shape to bring more money considering the amount of work its had. That chick needs to eat a sammich though….
I think you mean a few more butter croissants…
A lot of dough 4 not much go.
This has been for sale for ever and a day and I cannot figure out why.
I'm guessing it is the 64,515 franc price tag
Not a lot of escargot for the dough
I'm guessing it is the discrepancy between "no expense was spared in the restoration of this car" and "there is a little bubbling in lower corners of the front doors". One makes the other suspect.
Haven't seen this car myself, but I'm guessing it's like the model in the photo-shoot pictures… probably not as attractive in person without the professional lighting.
Plus, sadly, there is a general lack of appreciation and support for French cars in this country.
Owner- This car looked as good in person as it did in photographs. I was very happy with the body and paint but they didnt cut out the door corners as they should have. The car has gotten put on the back burner during Covid but now the doors are off and are headed to the body shop to get fixed properly. This car will be back on the market in about 8 weeks in better shape then ever before. I just might have to raise the price a little. I can be reached here if anyone has an interest.
Yea me either. Its getting fixed now and will be back on the market in about 8 weeks with a little higher price tag.
