Foxy Wagon: 1984 Ford LTD

The Ford LTD (pronounced el-tee-dee) was first built in 1965 on the Galaxie (not Galaxy) platform as a top of the line for Ford’s full sized offerings. In 1979 the LTD was downsized to Ford’s Panther platform and in 1983 it was turned into a midsized thing on Ford’s Fox platform…which was a good thing for people who enjoyed a fun driving experience. The new rack-and-pinion steering, unibody construction, and drivetrain / suspension parts shared with the Mustang meant the LTD finally went from making its drivers sick to making its passengers sick. Today’s wagon version appears to be equipped with the Essex V6 mated to a slushbox — it won’t be fast, but those wheels are hot. Seller’s Description
I am selling my 1984 Ford LTD, built on the same chassis as the foxbody mustang. Car runs good and drives good. Drove it 2 1/2 hours home when I purchased it. My intentions were to v8 swap it but I have found another car that I’d like to purchase and need the room. Perfect for a sbf or coyote swap! Only things I have done to the car are the custom upholstered corbeau seats and momo steering wheel. 5k OBO, shoot me an offer! Title in hand registered in KY

Was this thing cryogenically frozen back in the ’80s? How does it still look new?
