I have driven the cl55 – great engine noise, great touring car.
You could be right on price. NADA is showing Avg. Retail to be $20k and $24,800 for High Retail, but that's for my ZIP code. A carbon fiber interior kit, to get rid of the ol' wood-ish finish, would go a long way in giving it an updated appearance. In any case, diggin' it!
I remember first seeing one of these at the Geneva car show in 2003, I was really in awe. I still kind of am.
Was watching Legit Street Cars on youtube and they were saying this motor is 'pretty' simple and robust. Also Mercedes said they would no longer be producing the V12.
I've driven a C55 AMG – on a short autocross course, no less – but not this particular model. It was like a roller coaster in two dimensions. AMG can wring some pretty insane performance levels out of those cars.
