The E34 M5 was a bargain a few months ago, but the prices have shot up as folks realized that BMW didn’t make many of these fantastically fast muscle sedans…and all the E30 M3 & E28 M5s are monstrously priced. Find this 1991 BMW M5 offered for $5,500 in Pocatello, ID via craigslist. Tip from Chris.
The seller only provides a solitary picture of this piece of Bavarian Darth Vader helmet, but it appears to still have the factory two-tone paint scheme, but the wheels, tail lights, wing, exhaust are all aftermarket. The seller also admits that the S38 inline-6 (good for 315 horsepower and 270 ft-lbs of torque) needs some work and has a busticated piston and no compression on cylinder 5. Repairs to the DOHC inline-6 are not going to be cheap, but rebuild parts are available (unlike for the 5-speed getrag gearbox).
