Comes With Free “Garage”: 1948 Crosley CC Four

As we continue our celebration of Loony Labor Day…errr…Loony Labor Week, we continue to get good stuff in the tips box (thanks to all the tippers, particularly those who are allowed by law to be within 100 ft of the DT headquarters). Anyway, this next car isn’t just nutty because it is a wooden bodied Crosley, but it also comes with a “free garage” per the seller. I guess you could use the garage to keep your timber dry. Find this 1948 Crosley CC Four offered for $4250 in Wilton, VT via craigslist. Tip from Telearrow.

From the seller:

ONE OF A KIND!

With my help… my 90 yr old dad is selling his “prized toy”!
Here is his message:
“This custom made truck was built on a 1948 Crosley chassis. It was given to me in May 2001 and by the first of September I had made a pickup truck out of it with wood. I entered it in the 2001 Milford Labor Day parade and won my first trophy.
It is 9’ long, 3’7” wide with a 5 foot wheel base. The body is made of oak, maple, pine, birch, and three difference kinds of mahogany.
I have NH plates on it and I’ve had it on the road each year ever since. It is a one of a kind for sure.
Asking $4250 or best reasonable offer.”FREE GARAGE (10’8” x 10’10”) with purchase of truck! Perfect size!
Please let me know if you want more info! Thanks

Personally I would try and source a Devin B body for it. Devin bodied Crosleys are pretty wonderful.
I wonder if there is a gasser wearing the body this came with.
I’m just here to point out that the floor of the free garage looks to have been made from a ping-pong table. Which the Crosley wheelbase no doubt comfortably fits on. Excellent.
