Ford (not Chevy) V8 Powahh: 1966 Jaguar XKE 2+2
The XKE Jaguar came in a few flavors — the gorgeous topless model, the curvy coupe and the slightly bulbous 2+2…which isn’t really as bad as it sounds — personally i’d drive one every day if they weren’t so bloody expensive…oh…wait a minute. Find this 1966 Jaguar XKE 2+2 offered for $15,000 near Kansas City, KS via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!
Some of the best things in life come with a Chevy V8 powering the rear wheels, but is a small block in an E-Type Jag a bridge too far? From the seller: This 1966 Jaguar has an automatic transmission. It has a 302 Ford Engine and new paint job. Runs good but needs new brakes. Have put alot of work into this car but I am moving across country so I must sell. This is a beautiful car and a must see.

hmmmm… I'd get a Jaguar X300 powertrain, which is virtually bulletproof, and shoehorn it into this E. I don't like the color combo but it'd be a great DD.
I love XKEs but just can not get over the hump back of the 2+2. For me it just wrecks a perfect proportion car.
In a perfect world I would have a 62 3.8.
Sure looks Ford powared to me!
Ford, indeed.
Not quite flyer dough, but tempting. What's going on with those headlights?? Projectors?
Who's writing your headlines, guys? Chevy V8 powah?
Is the Chevy in the trunk?
-Stan (who is in dire need of his morning coffee…)
I've amended the title; please accept our sincere apologies for the error.
DT should have never been born.
Nah. We all love yah, DT.
But sometimes even DT needs a morning java.
-Stan (who is now winding down his day. No more caffeine for this bad boy…)
Wait….Whiskey in the morning, coffee at night….or did I get that wrong?
I now own this car, after $2000 worth of brake parts and a blown up rear end after first outing, I have this wild ride up and running! fun car!
Nice!! Send us some pics — tips@dailyturismo.com
